OWL Flight Plan

The OWL has landed -- the new learning management system (LMS) for Western is Sakai. As of January 2013, our current version of WebCT will be discontinued. Check this page often for updates and ways to participate in the project.

WebCT was acquired by Blackboard in 2005. To provide a better product to their customers, Blackboard needs to consolidate their offerings. As such, they have informed us that our current version of WebCT will be discontinued as of January 2013. Given that we have been using WebCT since 1998, this is an ideal opportunity to review campus needs and plan for the future.
